Purpose

Embodied Labs uses VR to help caregivers, medical students, and families experience what it's like to live with conditions such as Alzheimer's, macular degeneration, or terminal illness. The goal is to build empathy and improve care by shifting the perspective from observer to patient.

Where We See Impact

This is a powerful training tool in both medical and non-medical settings, used by hospitals, universities, and senior care facilities. It changes how people understand aging, cognitive decline, and end-of-life experiences, not through lectures, but lived simulation. It's especially impactful in training frontline workers in compassion-based care.

Accessing This Experience

Embodied Labs is available through institutional licensing, mostly in healthcare and academic environments. VR headsets like Meta Quest or Pico are required. The platform has been adopted by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and over 200 care organizations. It’s also been featured in Forbes, Fast Company, and SXSW for its innovation in aging and healthcare education.
